Police have seized more than $100,000 worth of drugs ahead of this year's Schoolies celebrations.

Operation Quebec Persia targeted drugs bound for the Gold Coast over the past five months, in the lead up to the end-of-year celebrations, with ice, cocaine, MDMA and cannabis among the illicit substances seized.

"Police believe these drugs would have ended up in the hands of our most vulnerable; our kids," said Police Minister Mark Ryan.

All up 31 people were arrested on 119 charges.

Detective Superintendent Jon Wacker of the Drug and Serious Crime Group said he was confident the 2018 Schoolies would be a safe event, with his own son heading along this year.

"I think it is a very safe environment, if it wasn't, he wouldn't be going.

"So mums and dads out there rest assured, Queensland police will be undertaking a number of covert and overt operations during this Schoolies period".
